Room/Board:

Housing is charged at $300.00 per month for a small pivate cabin. Cabins are fixed with propane heating and lights. We supply a you with mattress, but you must supply your own bedding. The cabins can be compared to comfortable camping. Employee cabins are located on a semi-secluded area of the property. Laundry must be done off-site. There is a Restaurant discount of 50% off during non-peak hours (food only). Kitchen and bath facilities are shared. There is an employee lounge with microwave, grills, toaster ovens, electric skillets, and refrigerator.  You are responsible for your own food and transportation costs.  Pets are not allowed.

Hourly Wages:

Vary with each position.  Minimum wage in Alaska is $7.15/hour.  Most of our positions are bonused; if you complete your work contract, you will receive a completion bonus based on the amount paid for housing, meaning, at the end of your contract all of your housing charges are refunded to you.  Returning employees will receive increased bonuses.  Bonuses are forfeited if you quit or are fired before the end of your contract.

Transportation:

If you are arriving in your own vehicle we are located at Mile 224 on the George Parks Hwy approx. 4 hours North of Anchorage. If you do not have your own transportation you can take the Parks Hwy Express (call toll free 1-888-600-6001 or www.alaskashuttle.com) from either Fairbanks or Anchorage at 20% off (let them know you are an employee). Each employee is responsible for your own transportation arrangements and costs.

Positions Available

Housekeeping:    No Experience Required.

Responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms, central bath, including laundry. Maintain and stock supplies. Make note and bring cabin maintenance issues daily to manager. All employees must become familiar with lodge and the local area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer service and be prepared for greeting and smiling at guests. Hours per week vary.

Rate of pay: $6.50 per cabin, per day + tips

Maintenance:   Experience Required

Responsible for light maintenance, including but not limited to, key locks, plumbing, lighting propane and hot water heaters, painting, general repair, basic electrical, burning of trash and area upkeep, light carpentry. You must be able to trouble shoot problems, find solutions and be a self-starter. All employees must become familiar with lodge and the local area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer service. Projects will very and will include landscaping tasks. Hours vary depending on immediate needs.

Rate of pay: $2,000.00 per month

Dinner Cook, Breakfast Cook & swing shift Cook:  Experience Required.

Responsible for successful preparation and presentation of all menu items, including taste, portion size, and quality.  Must have knowledge of sauté, fryer, grill, steaks, and seafood. Must learn all items on menu and be able to prepare them in an open kitchen atmosphere. Must be able to work in face paced environment cooking for up to 18 tables, well organized, professional appearance, clean and keep a positive attitude. All employees must become familiar with lodge and the local area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer service.

Rate of pay: $10.00-$12.00/hr + tips

Prep-Cook:  No experience required.

Prepare all salads, appetizers, and desserts for the guests as ordered by the wait staff. You will be responsible for keeping the back of the kitchen clean as part of a team.  Must be well-organized, positive attitude, and able to help wherever needed in the kitchen. All employees must become familiar with lodge and the local area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer service.

Rate of pay: $7.15 per hour + tips.

Dishwasher:    No experience required.

 Duties include working as part of a team keeping everything running smoothly, clean and neat; bussing tables, cleaning and putting away all dishes.   Must be well-organized, positive attitude, and able to help where ever needed in the kitchen. All employees must become familiar with lodge and the local area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer service.

 Rate of pay: $7.15 per hour + tips

Servers:     Experience required

 and you must be 21 years old and willing to get a TAM card. You must be an excellent server, efficient, helpful, friendly, professional, and become knowledgeable on all menu items including specialty beer and an extensive wine selection.  You must suggestive sell appetizers, beer, wine, targeted menu items, and desserts. All employees must become familiar with lodge and the local area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer service. Tip out of 15% to the kitchen staff is required.

Rate of pay: $7.15/hr + tips

Bakery / Deli Staff: No experience required.

This position requires an extremely, efficient, helpful, friendly, and professional person. This position is most often the first impression the guests have of our lodge.  All employees must become familiar with lodge and the local area, able to answer general questions providing excellent customer service. Duties also include, making box lunches to go, preparing and serving lunch in the bakery, booking tours for the guests and answering a lot of questions.

Rate of pay: $7.15/hr + tips
